Dear Members, Shoppers, and Friends of the CO-OP,
The Board of Directors is excited to announce that we have hired Mike Litka to be the next General Manager of the CO-OP, effective January 9, 2017.
Mike, who lives in Jenkintown, has 30 years of experience in the grocery and retail industries. He has a B.S. in Food Marketing from St. Joseph’s University and is an adviser, guest speaker, and panel judge at St. Joseph’s University Food Marketing Academy.
Mike has a passion for food and considers working with and around food to be a true opportunity for celebration. He develops a warm and inviting atmosphere for customers and is experienced in building teams and mentoring staff to create a positive work environment.
He has a knack for unearthing new vendors, especially local ones, and maintaining strong business relationships with suppliers. As a manager, he prefers to be on the floor rather than back in the office and always has an open door for staff and customers/members.
He is currently the store manager at DiBruno Bros. in Ardmore. Prior to this role, he was the general manager at CreekSide Food Co-op in Elkins Park. Much of Mike’s career was spent at Whole Foods, where he was associate grocery team leader and assistant store team leader in Philadelphia, grocery team leader and store team leader in Marlton, regional construction project manager out of Rockville, MD, in addition to other roles.
Mike very much looks forward to meeting you at the CO-OP and around town! We will be letting you know about some time slots during his first few weeks when Mike will be at the store, ready to meet, greet, chat, and say “hi” to anyone who would like to stop by for a visit.
