Ingredients
- 7 cups flour
- 2 cups sugar
- 1 tsp black pepper
- 1 tsp cinnamon
- 2 tsp baking powder
- 1 tsp ground cloves
- 1/2 tsp baking soda
- 1 cup shortening
- 2 1/4 C milk
- 1 Cup cocoa
- 2 TBL whiskey (optional)
Instructions
- Put all dry ingredient in order.
- Cut in shortening, then add milk and whiskey.
- Mix well. roll into small meatballs (1 inch).
- If too sticky, add a little more flour, if too dry, add a little more milk. Bake at 375 degrees for 20 minutes on greased and floured cookie sheet.
Icing
- 1 lb powdered sugar
- 4-5 TBL cocoa
- 1 tsp shortening
- 1-2 TBL boiling water (or enough to make spreadable)
Mix all ingredients and frost when completely cool with chocolate frosting.
Makes about 100 cookies
