Food for Change: The Story of Cooperation in America
A Film by Steve Alves

Food For Change is a documentary film about the vital role that food co-ops play in our food system. Together, 126 co-operatives in 36 states entrusted award-winning filmmaker Steve Alves to tell their story and follow three of the seven Cooperative Principals; to educate members, employees, and the general public about the benefits of cooperatives; to join with other co-ops in strengthening the cooperative movement; and to show the ways in which cooperatives demonstrate concern for community.

This powerful film, seven years in the making, will educate you about the history of food co-ops, inspire and motivate you to live the seven Cooperative Principals on your everyday life, and strengthen your attachment to the Swarthmore Food Cooperative.

Please join us for a special screening of the film, hosted by the Education Committee and followed by a short discussion of it’s potential impact to change the food system as we know it. Light refreshments will be provided.

Light refreshments will be served.
