Dear Co-Op Owners:
We have successfully achieved the Co-Op Freezer Fundraiser goal and the grand total raised is $105,000. This will cover the costs as well as afford a little extra to cover things that may arise during construction. A generous, anonymous donor provided the outstanding balance required to cover the total cost of the “mission critical” issue of the main dairy cooler and freezer storage.
Work will begin in January 2020 and we will keep everyone informed of the construction schedule as we learn more.
Thank you to all Co-op owners and friends in the community that stepped up over the past several months. From filling the jar at the check-out counter, committing to loans, upping equity, making online donations or supporting the various fundraising events -we’ve witnessed phenomenal owner engagement! A special shout-out to all of the volunteers that helped with the various fundraiser events including; Movie Nights spearheaded by Helge and Erum Hartung, Fitness Fundraisers led by Sam Nardi and Danielle Neathery and Thursday Night Live at Swarthmore Town Center.
There are always good things happening at the Co-Op and member engagement events will be announced in the weekly What’s Fresh eNewsletter, on the Co-Op website and throughout the store.
