The Co-op Board of Directors has conducted a search of interested individuals to join the Board and kindly submits the following candidates to Co-op owners for a vote. Each individual would serve a 3-year term.

Please indicate either a YES vote affirming the candidate for a 3-year term on the Board or a NO vote objecting to the candidate to serve on the Board.

Please submit your vote by July 5th, 2019.

A Little Bit About the Candidates

Jenn Smuts is marketing professional with broad experience across business, industry and geography. With key strengths in strategic and organizational development, she currently works as the Chief Marketing Officer at Connolly Gallagher LLP in Wilmington, Delaware.

Whether leading high performing teams that are geographically spread or developing relationships via one-on-one meetings, Jenn believes that effective collaboration starts with herself and being an effective contributor.

As a founding member and past-President of the Legal Marketing Association-Metro Philadelphia Chapter and past-Executive Editor of Strategies, the Journal of The Legal Marketing Association, Jenn is a committed individual that takes pride in her profession.

She is also co-chair of the Delaware Steering Committee for 2020 Women On Boards. 2020WOB is a non-profit national movement to increase the percentage of women on U.S. company boards to 20% or greater by the year 2020. The overall goal is to educate women about how they can navigate their own contacts to get on corporate boards and be a part of the larger national conversation.

Prior to moving to Swarthmore in 2007, Jenn lived and worked overseas. In Melbourne, Australia she worked as a Marketing Analyst for the Bank of Melbourne (now ANZ bank) and in Kwazulu Natal, South Africa she worked as a contract marketer for Unilever and volunteered at the U.S. Consulate General.

Jenn lives on Haverford Place with her husband, David Smuts. They have two children; Rachel, a student at Temple University and Oliver, a student at Strath Haven High school.

Kevin Kebea is Director of Product Development and Menu Innovation at Aramark where he oversees menu development for the healthcare, higher education, and business dining retail channels. Kevin holds a BS in communications from Temple University and an MBA from Drexel University. With more than 20 years of food and beverage marketing experience, Kevin has held past executive positions at APlus Convenience Stores and Samuels Seafood.

As an avid home chef and an award-winning homebrewer, Kevin is passionate about food and beer and their ability to bring people together and foster community. A resident of Delaware County for more than 15 years, he currently resides in Media with his wife Jennifer. You can find them on most Saturday mornings enjoying the Swarthmore Farmers Market and stopping by the CO-OP with their two young daughters.
