Dear Fellow Co-op Member-Owners,

Please join the Co-op Board of Directors and your fellow member-owners for the annual meeting of the membership on Thursday, April 19, 2018, at 7:00 p.m. at the Co-op. We will review the financial and operational results for 2017 and discuss our plans for the rest of 2018 and beyond. We will cover the status of beer & wine sales at the Co-op as well as our GM’s plans for the business. We will also vote to elect six (6) owners to the Board of Directors and to approve changes to the ByLaws.

We invite you to stay after the business meeting to enjoy food, drink and conversation. All in all, we think you will have an enlightening and enjoyable evening, and we hope to see you there. Our By-Laws require that at least 25 owners be present to constitute a quorum, so your attendance is both important and appreciated.

This year a vote of the membership is required on two important issues. First is the election of six (6) member-owners to the Co-op Board of Directors. The enclosed notice contains the biographical information of the nominees, two of whom are running for a second term and four who will be new to the Board. The Board believes that these individuals’ skills, perspectives, and dedication will serve the Co-op well. Second is a vote to approve changes to the Co-op By-Laws allowing notification of owners by email in addition to US Postal Service. This change will result in annual savings as well as increased flexibility in reaching owners on any issues that require a vote of the owners.

If you are unable to attend the meeting to vote in person, please return the attached ballot to the Co-op on or before April 19. Results of the meeting will be posted on the website for anyone who is unable to attend.

We look forward to seeing you on April 19.

Sincerely,

Pamela Bartholomew
President, Board of Directors
Swarthmore Co-op
